After 2 weeks - I attended a local conference - actually my first conference ever,
May 2007 - I became a part of Organizing Committee of a project,
Autumn 2007 - I attended to a national conference in AIESEC Ukraine,
December 2007 - I was selected as Organizing Committee President of a conference,
January 2008 - I became a trainer after attending "Train the Trainers" conference,
February 2008 - I was elected as Vice President of AIESEC Chisinau,
May 2008 - I attended at "International Trainers Congress", my first international conference,
Summer 2008 - I attended the biggest event in AIESEC - International Congress 2008 in Brazil,
September 2008 - I attended as facilitator the international "Train the Trainers" conference in Moldova,
Also during all this time I made a lot of friends from all over the world, attended more than 10 conferences and had a great time in AIESEC.

So, this is my story.
My name is Iulian Gulea and I'm from Moldova, but the most important thing is that I am an AIESECer!

Inside my mind

There are a lot of thoughts in my mind, but this post was floating in my head for several weeks now, so i decided to write it...
__

Mind - how much do we know about it?

I don't want you to give an answer, just think about what do you know?
I was thinking also about it and a thing from all what came to me was MEMORIES... Besides all the processes in our head, we all have memories, some of them are fresh, another hidden somewhere deep inside our minds.
If to start to remember, there are a lot of moments from out past, from our childhood, our school life and more in our mind...
Just look at this sleigh

and now, while looking at it, try to remember all those moments when you with your friends were playing outside, all wet, but happy each time when riding down from the hill, then going up to make it again, and again, and again...
--
or remember where you were traveling, all roads, places, people you traveled with...

--
you can also close your eyes and remember your bicycle rides...

--
try to look around. i'm sure that almost for any thing you see you have something related with, some memories. even a tree from your yard can make you remember a lot of moments from your past. maybe they are good, maybe not, but they do exist in our minds, we just forgot them and need a push to remember and a desire to do this.

International Congress (IC) 2008 in Brazil - The Congress

so, here am i, at the purpose of my trip to Brazil...
10 day spent, well not spent but lived, full of networking, making friends all over the world, gathering new information, sharing of experience, having fun and more...

60 years of AIESEC

a GREAT team

around 800 delegates, more than 100 countries

company launches & workshops

knowlegde & sharing

of course a lot of fun and unforgetable moments :)))

meeting new people from all places of the world and of course the Gala Awards Night

meeting old friends :)

and in the end, going crazy after such an IC...

and the congress took its end... btw, it was my 10th AIESEC conference...
i didn't feel sadness as usually after an AIESEC conference, maybe because it was different, or it was huge?
but still there is one thing i hate in international conferences and generally speaking in big conferences... As a person from AIESEC Moldova said once: "I hate this conference, because 95% of people from here i will not see anymore, will not be able to meet again" and that's true, and i hate the IC for this...

but if to return to the topic, after IC, delegation from Moldova had 2 days of hanging around in Sao Paulo...

enjoying the random city and looking forward to come back home...

the last part is here

International Congress (IC) 2008 in Brazil - Sao Paulo

3:30AM, hotel, Sao Paulo.
after Rio, i didn't expect to see something "powerful" in Sao Paulo...
and in a way it was so, but, i lived a really big experience during three days until the conference itself had to start. namely it was the translator role i had those three days.
in Rio i was alone from Moldavian delegation, but i knew people from Ukraine and we were together during the trip in Rio and in Sao Paulo.
so i was trying to translate from Portugese to Russian using Romanian language :))) it's impossible to explain how it was, ut must be seen! the way how i was adding terminations to Romanian words in order to obtain Portugese and it worked in 30% cases. i will never forget that :)

the second thing, Sao Paulo - 16 mln people - a random megapolis... so random that i was amazed... people are so different in behavior, but few of them know english :(

metro, parks, buildings, flora, shopping :), translator, fun, people... the list of things i've remembered and liked can continue.

but these 3 days also passed and the conference has started...

to be continued :)...

International Congress (IC) 2008 in Brazil - Rio de Janeiro

13th of August.
it was a day full of running through the city in all directions, solving problems with my dormitory, being at the LC meeting for elections of OCP of the "Moldova Training Conference" which is running for the first time in Moldova and lots of other activities...
and besides that, i didn't have money in lei to pay the taxi driver and i had to pay him in euro at a very bad rate for me :(. but finally i got to the bus station and took my bus to Kiev.
it supposed to be a long trip... and it was...

here i'll skip the details and tell only that after 12 hours of traveling by bus, 8 hours of waiting alone at the airport in Kiev, 3 hours of flying to Rome, then 3 hours of looking at the Rome's airport walls and 11 hours of flying i arrived (finally!) to my destination point - Sao Paulo.

15th of August, 4:30AM
alone, at 10000 km far away from home, my trip has started...
from 4:30AM till 6:00AM i've met plenty of persons like me, wanting for Study Tour in Rio de Janeiro to begin.

before getting to Rio, we stoped at a kind of restaurant or cafe (i don't know how to name it) where we had your lunch. each of us was a waiter for him/herself :).

it was tasty :) and it costed us only R$18 which is 108 Moldavian lei (multiply by 6).
after lunch we moved forward and finally arrived to Rio de Janeiro :)
first day we were at the famous Copacabana Beach. it was the first time i saw the ocean :)

the second day we were at the so called "Sugar Loaf", then at another famous beach of "Ipanema", then the next day at the famous (there were a lot of famous places :) stadion of Maracana and at the statue of the Christ the Redeemer. unfortunately i still have to get my photos with these places from the laptops on which i saved my photos :( so, i will upload them later.

but, if in several words - it was GREAT... if you will have the opportunity to visit Rio - don't hesitate...

so, 3 days left behind and the time has come to return to Sao Paulo...

to be continued :)...
